Dynamic Reteaming
The thing I liked about it most was the tools for team building and the recommended readings.

π οΈ Market of Skills: As detailed in Lyssa Adkins’ Coaching Agile Teams, it’s a tool rich with outcomes. It helps us find common ground and celebrate our differences, cultivating greater respect as we learn what others can do that we cannot. It also provides visibility into our learning goals, encourages us to offer help to one another, and much more.
Each person write down the following about themselves:
-
Name
-
Role on the team
-
Skills they bring to the team
-
Hobbies and special interests
-
What I want to learn in the next three monts
-
What I offer to teach you
-
What I need from others to succed in my role
Each person presents.
After, what else they know that other talent they now another posses but did not mention.
Debrief:
-
What surprised you
-
What did you noticed that you have in common
-
What are you learning about our team
-
Based on what you learned from your teammates, what do you want to do now
π οΈ The story of our team: Team members reflect on and place the most meaningful events and experiences along a timeline. This helps team members get to know each other better.
π οΈ Peak Experiences: Share an influential and memorable story from their past and explains how it impacted their life.
After the meeting, ask the team members what values they think are present in the story.
Review the complete list togheter. These are presented on the team.
π οΈ Like, Learned, Lacked, Longed For - The 4L's: A short but powerfull retrospective technique. Each team member writes down their thoughts on four topics: what I Liked, what I Learned, what was Lacking, and what I Longed for. By reviewing these together, the team can identify common themes and determine actionable next steps to address collectively
π οΈ Personal Maps: From the great guru, Jurgen Appelo. Each team member creates a visual map (similar to a mind map) with their name at the centre and branches representing different aspects of their life, such as:
- Hobbies π¨πΈ
- Personal values π
- Life experiences πΊοΈ
- Interests or aspirations β¨
"Team change is inevitable. You might as well get good at it."
